Face shapes, and where your blush should go

The shape of your face changes the placement, not the product. A short guide by bone structure.

Blush placement is about where light falls on your face. Find your widest point and work from there.

By shape

  • Round: sweep up and back towards the temple to add length.
  • Long: keep it on the apples and blend outwards, not up.
  • Square: soft circles on the apples take the edge off a strong jaw.
  • Heart: place it just below the cheekbone and keep it away from the temples.
  • Oval: almost anything works. Start on the apples and blend towards the ear.

Cream or powder

Cream blush sits better on dry skin and melts into it. Powder lasts longer on oily skin. If you are combination, cream on the cheeks and a light powder set is the usual compromise.
