Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your information on beautysassy.com. Last updated 5 November 2026.

Your photo

Your photo is resized on your own device before it is uploaded.
It is sent once to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce your skin read, and the result is sent back to your browser.
We do not save your photo or your result, and we do not use them to train any model.
Your photo is treated as personal data. We only process it with your consent, which you give by ticking the box before each read. You must be 16 or over to use the Skin Read.

Limits on use

To stop abuse, we briefly keep a count of reads per IP address in memory (three a day). It is not written to a database and resets within 24 hours. Before a read, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're a person, not a bot. Cloudflare processes signals from your browser for that check under its own privacy policy; it doesn't see your photo.

Your results are kept only in your browser tab so the results page can show them. Close the tab and they're gone; we never store them.

Advertising and cookies

On your first visit we ask before any advertising cookies are used. Essential only keeps them off: ads still show, but they're limited and not personalised. Accept all lets our ad partner use cookies to show and measure ads. We remember your choice in your browser, and you can change it any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. The site's own storage (your cookie choice, whether you closed the newsletter pop-up, your Skin Read result in that tab) is essential and never used for ads.

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before these cookies are set.

Visit statistics

We count visits with Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we host ourselves. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data and doesn't follow you across other sites. We only see totals, such as how many people read a story and where they came from.

Affiliate links

Some stories link to products at retailers. If you click one, the retailer or its affiliate network may set a cookie to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission if you buy. That cookie is set by them, under their privacy policy, and only after you click. We never see what you buy or your payment details.

If you subscribe, we keep your email address, when and where you signed up, and the wording you agreed to. We use it only to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
